The New Largo High School
by A’ja Pogue

Largo High School will finally go under construction the summer of 2014. After years of waiting to be remodeled, the buildings that have been in place since the 50’s will finally be demolished and replaced. With a budget of about 60 million many wonder what will become of Largo high school. The principle and his team of about fifteen people are working hard to organize the plans for the new school.

Mr. Finkbiner worries more about the patience and safety of the students while the school will be under construction. He also believes that  a moral boost for the students, teachers and the community will be the  outcome of the completion of this project. There are thoughts of LHS being built as a technology school but nothing is confirmed.
Also there are rumors that the land Largo Subs is situated on will become a part of the LHS campus. With so much new space many new additions can be added to our campus. Students are happy that the school will finally be modernized and are making suggestions such as a dome football stadium, a pool, two gymnasiums (one for sports events and one for classes), indoor track (like the one at USF) and a food court cafeteria. The current student faculty shows a great deal of disappointment that the new school will not be done before they graduate. The incoming freshmen of 2013 and any students entering LHS  after that time period may be the only ones to walk the halls of the new and improved Largo High.
