Driver’s Education
by Emily Ansah
Do you know how to drive? Would you like to know how to drive? If you do, then take driver’s education class! It is a class that’s not only a grade, but it also teaches you the valuable life-long skill of driving. This class teaches you the rules of the road and also the dangers of breaking those rules. Driver’s education, if taken in school, can give you the benefit of low car insurance and the knowledge of safe, defensive driving. Driver’s education also goes into detail of videos and statistics of what not to do, and how those stupid mistakes can cause your death, and the death of others. Some of those mistakes are texting while driving, drinking and driving, and talking on the phone while driving. These things are dangerous, as they distract the driver from concentrating on the road. When asked why she was taking driver’s education, Nina (a student at Largo High School) said, “I took driver’s education to learn the laws and rules of the road.” Then, I asked Coach Casey, the driving instructor at Largo High School, what the importance of his class was, he said “The importance of this class is for students to learn safety and responsibility on the road, and the proper way to drive.”
