Largo High School Packer Press
Senior Breakfast
by Jasmine Pleasant
The 2013 Senior Breakfast was at Banquet Masters in Pinellas Park on Thursday, 30 Mat 2013. To start the show Senior Class President, Kristjana Manco did the welcome and introduced the first entertainment act for the morning. The first act was Kade Ballogg and CJ Harris singing original songs that they had written. After Kade and CJ there was another musical performance. Haley Lehman and Laura Tolman sang “Seasons of Love” from the play Rent.
As a gift to Largo High School, the Senior Class of 2013 had bought a flag to be flown at the new school. After Marissa Corbitt presented the flag, Maisey Rawe presented the Senior Class of 2013 gift to the principal. A gift certificate to golf for two had been given to Mr. Finkbiner, LHS Principal. After the presentation Taylor Smith sang a mix of songs to lead into breakfast.
The food was delicious with a variety so large that it would please everyone. After breakfast Jasmine Pleasant was the final act of the morning. To the surprise her classmates she told them about her little known talent. Jasmine sang “Someone like you” by Adele.
After the surprise performance, the Senior Superlatives were given out and the Senior Olympics winner was announced. Some of the winners were Derrick Doss and Marina Levine for being “most athletic”, and Jona Humbel for “most likely to sleep in class.” The last award was given to the winning team for the Senior Olympics. This year the2013 Senior Olympics winners were “The Purple People Eaters.”
To end breakfast Haley Lehmann presented a senior slide show. Everyone had sent in pictures from freshman year to senior year. That’s when it hit everyone. Most of the seniors had known each other since elementary and middle school and it was finally time for them to go their separate ways. Everyone laughed and everyone cried throughout the slideshow. When the slideshow ended everyone cheered. Everyone was cheering because they’ve made it. Despite the long nights, projects, mean teachers, and any other obstacles the graduating seniors of the Class of 2013 had made it. Congratulations Seniors!
