Things were looking bleak for the Senior Olympics before it had even started. It had just started to pour two hours before all the seniors were supposed to show up to the field. All the teams were mentally preparing themselves for the games ahead and making their final touches to their uniforms.
The first event was the Bat Slip and Slide; one player from each team had to spin around the bat five times, slide down the slip and slide, and stand up. The team that took the least amount of time to accomplish this was the winner. First up to the bat was Janycelis Martinez from ‘The Trill Team.’ Then Gordon Hicks from ‘The Purple People Eaters’ and Jorge Irizarry from ‘The Bruisers’ set impressive times.
The next game was the water balloon toss. Juwan Brown and Tyler Gilpin and won the balloons toss game with poise and technique. Next was the potato sac race, it was really close until the last leg where Jasmine Pleasant from ‘The Purple People Eaters’ took off! That win kept ‘The Purple People Eaters’ in the running for the winners circle. ‘The Trill Team’ literally swept the floor when it came to tug of war. Everyone else had no chance against them.
The final event was the one that all the captains had been dreading all day, Dirty the Captain. The wining team of the 2013 Senior Olympics will be announced at the Senior Breakfast, Thursday May 30, 2013.
